What is Yoga?
Yoga is the science and art of right living. It works on all the physical, vital, mental, psychic, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person. The word "Yoga" simply means "unity", "oneness" or "to join".
What are those that join? Body, mind and emotions join. It balances our mind, body and emotions.
For balancing them, individuals have to practice Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Mudra (positions or gestures), Bandha (locks for channeling energy) and Shatkarma (cleansing techniques). They are techniques and they help to purify mind, body and energy systems enabling the practice of meditation and creation of a spiritual life.
The practice of yoga develops awareness of the connection between mind, body and emotions. If a person experiences imbalances of his or her personality or physical body, that means the organs, muscles and nerves are functioning differently. Yoga helps to bring different bodily funtions into correct order. It helps a helathy life style till death.
